Gleason's Gym Gleason's Gym has been around since 1937, and it's one of the oldest and most famous boxing gyms in the world. As AAU celebrates the 90th anniversary of the AAU James E. Sullivan Award, announced for April 21, 2020, the New York Athletic Club takes a look back at the history between the two organizations. Joe Higgins has been involved with amateur and professional boxing for decades. It was designed through the eyes of Charles W. Clinton, the building has 24 floors and includes two restaurants, a bar and library, a ballroom, billiard room, meeting rooms roof solarium, as well as eight floors of guest rooms , for members and club members.
